- Greetings, I have been a beer aficionado for a while now and have decided to become a professional brewer. In 2010 I began home brewing my own beer and discovered I had a real knack for it. Early in 2011 I realized this was my passion and vowed to myself that by the end of the year, I would be working in a craft brewery and/or be enrolled in a brewing education program (even if it didn't start for a while). Within a month, I'd been laid off from where I was teaching science, and a week later had been accepted to the Certified Brewmaster Program for 2012 at Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei (VLB) in Berlin. I'll be heading there in January, 2012. I have decided to chronicle my journal and thoughts on beer in the blog. I hope you enjoy the ride and learn a thing or two about beer in the process.
